Helping put the pieces together...

I want you to know a little about me as a person and as a therapist...

You can email me at dr.gailreece@gmail.com or call at 678 339 1221

My Counseling Techniques:

My specialties are marriage counseling, addictions, ADHD supportive therapy, men’s issues, and child/teen/family therapy. I have had extensive training in the mediation process, which is often an important component of marriage counseling. For individuals, counseling and coaching are done from a problem solving and educational perspective. Solution focused therapy and cognitive behavior therapy (CBT) are accomplished through a client/therapist team approach. It is my job to furnish my clients with the tools and support necessary to achieve his or her individual goals while minimizing the barriers to success. When those barriers are external, solution focused therapy is used. When they are internal (depression, anxiety and negative self-talk) then CBT is used. Often real life situations require a mixture of the two approaches. If you want to know more, there is a page on ''How does therapy work'' on the main menu.

My Education and Teaching Experience:

* Capella Universty, Ph.D. in Educational Psychology, Emphasis in Developmental Psychology

* Georgia School of Professional Psychology, Master of Arts Degree in Psychology, Specialty in Professional Counseling

* University of Northern Colorado, Bachelor of Arts degree in Education

* American University, awarded national Certification as a Forsensic Addictions Specialist

Teaching Experience: from 1999 to present for: Mercer University, Argosy University and Kaplan University.

I have taught a wide variety of psychology courses. I am currently enjoying my role of teaching counseling theories in Argosy University's Masters Degree Program in Forensic Psychology.

My Personal Life:

I have been married for 38 years to a wonderful man that I met in Alaska. We were both making our 400th parachute jump that day. We have two sons. One is a graduate of the Air Force Academy and is now an Air Force major with considerable combat experience as an M-53 helicopter pilot. Also, if you saw the first Transformers movie, he was the hologram pilot flying Blackout. Our youngest son, a Georgia Tech grad, is now a civilian engineer following an eight year Navy career that included Navy Dive officer and EOD specialist. Between my two sons, the family has survived seven tours of combat duty.

I am the only therapist I know who is a NRA member, or a competitive shooter. I finished second in the World Championships in 2009 shooting in the Ladies Frontier Cartridge category.

My family experiences are unusual for a therapist. Therefore, I believe you should understand how my background is different from what you might have expected. I believe this is one reason that I have been very popular over the years with the Forsyth County Sheriff’s Dept. and also with our firefighters and EMTs. And yes, I also like to read, make jewelry and take walks with our two Labrador dogs, some of the things you would expect from an old lady counselor. Gail
